Nothing binds family and friends like the thrill of steam and the adventure of a sightseeing journey. On the Essex Steam Train you can enjoy a two and a half hour, narrated steam train and riverboat excursion through the Connecticut River Valley, so beautiful that the Nature Conservancy named it one of the “last great places” on earth. The only Steam Train and Riverboat connection in the country. At the historic, 1892 Essex Station, you will board vintage rail cars pulled by an authentic steam locomotive. The train meanders through the countryside to Deep River Landing, where you are escorted onto the Becky Thatcher Riverboat. The one hour cruise along the Connecticut River, you will delight in breathtaking scenery and view historic landmarks such as Gillette Castle and Goodspeed Opera House. Return back to Deep River Landing, the steam train welcomes you for the return trip to Essex Station.
Make any occasion special aboard the Essex Clipper Dinner Train.
